Questions, answered plainly.

Privacy, kids' data, pricing, and why an 1828 dictionary.

Is it free?
Yes, the core app is free: baseline test, word lists, study, and import.
Do you see my reading data?
No. Import happens entirely in your browser (the file is parsed locally). Nothing is uploaded.
What if I don't have an e-reader?
The baseline test and curated lists are the foundation; import is one on-ramp. Plenty to study either way.
Will this work with my kids' devices?
Yes — any Kindle® e-reader with Vocabulary Builder enabled keeps the file. Parents review imports before saving.
Why Webster's 1828?
Because definitions used to be written like literature. It's the dictionary of choice in classical education, and its public-domain status means we can give you all of it.
Is this affiliated with Amazon?
No. Vocabularium is an independent project. It reads a file from your own device, with your own hands on the cable.
